Lot 402: * Edwardian Three-Panel "Spy" Decoupage Folding Screen

Edwardian Three-Panel “Spy” Decoupage Folding Screen This Edwardian three-panel folding screen is a striking work of antique decoupage, featuring a comprehensive collection of original Vanity Fair “Spy” lithographs expertly arranged across solid wood panels. Primarily illustrated by Sir Leslie Ward (under the pseudonym “Spy”) during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the screen showcases a structured grid of prominent Victorian and Edwardian figures—including military officers, judges, and statesmen—anchored by larger central hunting scenes. The entire composition is unified by a warm, amber-toned vintage patina and joined by robust metal hinges that allow for versatile positioning. Measuring approximately 175 cm in height and 160 cm in extended width, the piece displays characterful signs of age consistent with its antique status, serving as both a functional room divider and a rich historical archive of British social history. Dimensions: 175 × 160 cm (H × W extended).
