What we have built for
This site is designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means:
- Every part of the site can be operated with a keyboard alone, including browsing a catalogue, opening a lot, moving through the image gallery and reaching registration.
- A visible focus indicator shows where you are when navigating by keyboard, on both light and dark parts of the site.
- Text and interface colours meet the required contrast ratios.
- Interactive controls are large enough to be operated reliably by touch.
- Setting “reduce motion” in your operating system disables the site’s scroll and reveal animations.
- Images carry written alternative text, and forms use real labels.
- Live-updating values such as bid status are announced to screen readers, without announcing every second of a countdown.
Known limitations
Auction catalogue and lot data is supplied by a third-party bidding platform. Where bidding is completed on that platform, its accessibility is outside our direct control. If you encounter a barrier at that stage, contact us and we will help you complete a registration or a bid by another route.
Some documents supplied to us by third parties, such as legal packs for property lots, may be provided as scanned PDFs that are not fully accessible. Contact us if you need the content of a specific document in another format.
Bidding by another route
If any part of the bidding process is difficult for you to use, you do not have to use it. You can leave a commission bid with us, or bid by telephone where the sale allows it. Contact us before the sale and we will make the arrangements.
Telling us about a problem
If you find something on this site that you cannot use, please tell us. Email info@proauction.ltd.uk or call 01761 414 000, and describe what you were trying to do and what happened. We treat accessibility faults as faults, not as feature requests.
