Lot 744: * Side Chair "Delanois" (Louis XV Style)

Side Chair “Delanois” (Louis XV Style), Ateliers Allot Carved beechwood frame with caned seat and back; France Louis XV style side chair inspired by designs attributed to the 18th century Parisian menuisier Louis Delanois. Constructed in solid beechwood, the frame has a curved backrest, a sinuous apron, and cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet, reflecting the light Rococo forms associated with Delanois. The seat and back are finished with fine cane webbing, and the frame is completed with a hand applied patina. Contemporary production by Ateliers Allot, a French manufacturer established in 1812 and holder of the EPV label, integrating cabinetmaking, caning, woodcarving, and associated trades. [LOC 718]
