Framed Print Hebrew text at the bottom of the map consists of two lines: the main title, “מפת ירושלים” (Map of Jerusalem), and the subtitle, “בצירוף מפתח” (With an accompanying key) modern reproduction presents a high-quality bird’s-eye view of Jerusalem, meticulously restored from the original 1928 oil painting by artists Friedrich Wilhelm (Fr.) and R. Stegmiller. Originally published by Kösel & Pustet in Munich, the map is celebrated for its precise topographical accuracy, capturing the dramatic altitudes and valleys surrounding the Holy City with a focus on central landmarks like the Dome of the Rock. This contemporary print maintains the historical integrity of the piece by including the original Hebrew titles, the artists’ signatures, and the formal credits for the Hebrew University’s Department of Geography, where the original collection is housed. While the 1928 original is a rare institutional artifact, this modern version serves as a vibrant and accessible piece of cartographic art 124 x 74cm (Loc ALNCM)
