A pair of Louis XV (Rococo) style Beaudry armchairs is a definitive celebration of the Louis XV (Rococo) style, a period that replaced the rigid formality of previous eras with light, sinuous forms and an emphasis on feminine grace. Hand-crafted from solid beechwood, the frame is characterised by its fluid cabriole legs—the iconic S-curve of the 18th century—and a violin-form curved backrest designed for ergonomic comfort. Taking its name from the Beaudry heritage model, this design represents the “high-country” aristocratic style, where the focus shifted towards intimacy and conversation. The piece features exquisite hand-carved ornamentation, with delicate shell-like rocaille and floral motifs that appear to grow organically from the wood. This luxury is furthered by the Laqué écaillé (chipped lacquer) finish, a sophisticated technique that provides a smooth, durable surface with a distressed, antique character. The interior craftsmanship is equally refined, employing traditional upholstery methods: double-coil steel springs are hand-tied into jute webbing and layered with breathable horsehair stuffing. This labour-intensive process ensures the seat maintains its resilient shape and provides a firm yet comfortable support that modern foam cannot replicate. The chairs are upholstered in a luxury fabric, meticulously finished to complement the hand-carved and distressed aesthetic of the beechwood frame. Each chair measures 37 inches (93 cm) in height, 23 inches (58 cm) in width, and 19 inches (48 cm) in depth..
